The Mojo's Risin'...

Had a chance to take a quick ride up the river last night - always feels good to dust off the boat and spend some quality outdoor time together!

It's Rajun! It's Cajun! It's....

...the Crawfish Festival!

John and I spent Saturday afternoon on the shores of Lake Mary Jane in Orlando at the 18th Annual Rajuncajun Crawfish Festival with our friends the Spencers, and about 300 other people eating, well, crawfish, of course, along with shrimp, corn, potatoes, jambalaya, and other fixings, and listening to the live zydeco band, The Porchdogs. It was a real hoot, y'all. Jack and Will had fun hanging out at home with Uncle Jim and Andrew, and Leah hit the malls with Olivia.

Since we rarely pass up a chance to eat a meal outside on a nice spring day, this morning found us at a neighborhood cafe, Delano's, for brunch.

Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend!

We interrupt this blog for TWO important announcements.

My friend and neighbor Cindy Rawlins (you may know her as Olivia's mom, LOL) has pledged to walk SIXTY miles in the Breast Cancer 3-Day in Tampa Bay, Florida. She is hoping to raise $3,000. The net proceeds will support breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment through Susan G. Komen for the Cure and the National Philanthropic Trust Breast Cancer Fund. This is such a great cause and quite the undertaking on Cindy's part! If you would like to donate, click this link to reach Cindy's 3-Day webpage. Thank you!

From Ali's blog:

Autism Speaks created a music video of the Five for Fighting song, "World", which features images of autistic children and their families. It is a truly moving video and was the work of Bill Shea. The band is generously donating $0.49 to Autism Speaks for each time the video is viewed - the funding goes toward research studies to help find a cure. When you have a moment, please visit the link below to watch the video and pass it along to your friends and family. They are aiming for 10,000 hits, but hopefully we can help them to surpass this goal.

By the way, Ali and Autism Speaks DID win the Six Degrees contest!

We now return to our regularly scheduled blogging.

A fun day yesterday!

We had a great time celebrating Easter over on the hill - we did our Easter Challenge Games once again. Karen and I were the "Peeps" and we ROCKED!! The girls started out together as the "Cottontails," but there was apparently some sort of rebellion because Leah ended up breaking away and forming her own team, "The Lone Piglet." (motto: "Fight the Power!") Jack, Andy and Austin called themselves the "Homicidal Cows" (motto: "We hurt farmers and destroy dreams"). Don't ask, I don't know. John and Jim were the "Roosters" and Grandma and Nana were the "Bunnies." We played bocce, basketball, and chess, along with some swing and trampoline games. I am not sure what the final score was, but I am pretty sure the Peeps won.

Adam and Desiree came by with "Sugarbear," who I'm fairly sure is dog. Will wasn't exactly sure, though.

Happy Easter, People!

Hope everyone enjoys their day!

Will made bunny ears, colored eggs (which he has since smashed together, for fun), and had an egg hunt at school yesterday.

Today we had a barbeque with our cousins, including the NYers, Grandma and Jodie. We ate, colored eggs, and then the kids hit the hot tub!

The Mancusoheim.

Will spent some quality time at his easel today... he is really getting into art these days! In fact, at school today he fingerpainted an Easter egg, and it's so beautiful, I think it should be in a museum! So...

Leah keeps reminding me...

...that I have been a horribly disappointing blogger these days. So, here are some shots of things we have been up to in the past week and a half or so. John's mom and niece Jodie arrived yesterday, so we will be blogging about that also, I'm sure!

Hope everyone is doing well. Thanks to those of you that donated to Autism Speaks through Ali's badge. Looks like she finished in first place, although they are confirming all the donors before they make the official announcement. Awesome!

What we've been doing:

Epcot, again.

Football. Jack is starting quarterback and finishes up as defense-sack-guy. (Whatever that position is called).

Roller Skating.

Hanging with friends.
