Long-awaited Delivery!

Many of you know that about 9 months ago, our neighborhood began a large project... replacing our failing septic system with sewers. They ripped our roads, yards, driveways, sprinklers, you name it. The final phase was supposed to begin this week - replacing lost sod and sidewalks, and finally, asphalting the roads. What a sight to wake up to this morning - pallets of sod ready to be laid. Asphalt cannot be far behind! John and I also took the opportunity to plant two Cleveland pear trees out front.

Very cool. I know it's been a long haul, but it's really going to be worth it. Can't wait to see the pear trees in bloom -- next year?

i'm just happy the "if it's brown, flush it down" motto will no longer have to be implimented.

Well, it is a GOOD thing to flush it down if it's brown, you know.

The pear trees' leaves should turn crimson in the fall, and then they should get white blooms in the spring. They can grow to 30ft. We will see!

They will be beautiful, I'm sure. They are fast growers too, aren't they? You should take some shots of the kids standing beside them. It would be a fun way to track the growth of the trees... and the kids!
